Job summary

Student Cribs is seeking a systems-focused specialist to scale our technology as we expand into professional lettings. You will bridge the business and development teams, optimize data flows, and help shape a digital roadmap toward a £1bn portfolio, leveraging AI to boost efficiency.

This role requires SQL proficiency, strong problem solving, and excellent communication as you support cross-department projects from data extraction to reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify inefficiencies across departments and drive system improvements that impact the business.
• Understand the student customer journey and ensure systems and data support the seamless experience from search to tenancy.
• Bridge the business and development teams; translate requirements and keep projects moving.
• Dive into the database to extract data, build reports, and shape digital roadmap proposals.
• Support AI strategy with Systems Manager and COO to improve efficiencies across the business.
• Champion AI across the business; help the wider team adopt AI to work smarter.
• Create and maintain support documentation that makes systems accessible to everyone.
• Own data quality; lead best practices for data entry and validation.
• Manage the flow of bug fixes and feature requests, prioritising what matters most and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Get involved in software testing, system rollouts, and process improvement projects as the company scales.

Student Cribs is the UK’s largest non-PBSA owner-operator, managing over 5300 beds across 24 university cities. PE-backed and growing, we are now expanding into professional lettings — targeting working professionals and key workers seeking high-quality accommodation.

The Role

Be at the centre of how Student Cribs uses technology to scale. This role sits within our Systems team and works across every department to identify inefficiencies, drive system improvements, and champion AI adoption. You will bridge the gap between the business and development team, dive into our database to support investment decisions, and help shape the digital roadmap as we grow toward a £1bn portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across every department to identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and drive system improvements that have a direct impact on the business.
• Understand the full student customer journey and ensure systems and data support the business in delivering a seamless experience from property search through to tenancy.
• Own the bridge between the business and the development team. Translate requirements, keep projects moving, and ensure what gets built solves the problem.
• Dive into the database to extract data, build reports, and support business case proposals that shape the digital roadmap.
• Support delivery of the AI strategy, working closely with the Systems Manager and COO to utilise AI to improve efficiencies across the business.
• Champion AI across the business. Experiment with Claude and ChatGPT, find practical applications, and help the wider team adopt AI to work smarter.
• Create and maintain support documentation that makes systems accessible to everyone.
• Own data quality. Lead best practices for data entry and validate what goes into the system.
• Manage the flow of bug fixes and feature requests, prioritising what matters most and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Get involved in software testing, system rollouts, and process improvement projects as the company scales.
