Job summary

KPI Education is seeking a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant for a Barnet secondary school, starting September 2026. You will support Science, Maths, Computing and other STEM lessons, providing 1:1 and small-group help while helping students build confidence and subject knowledge.

You will gain valuable classroom experience, work with experienced teachers, and participate in training that supports progression to teacher training routes such as PGCE or SCITT.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 2:1 or higher.
• Strong academic knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence working with secondary-age students.
• Ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Patient, proactive and resilient approach.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Tutoring/mentoring experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Science, Maths, Computing and STEM lessons.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support.
• Help students understand concepts and develop subject knowledge.
• Support practical activities, experiments and classroom learning.
• Assist with lesson preparation and STEM resources.
• Support revision, homework and exam preparation.
