EdEx - Education Recruitment is recruiting for a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant at a high-performing Tower Hamlets secondary school. The role is full-time, term-time only, with scope for teacher training in September 2027 and ASAP start.

This is a fantastic chance for a motivated STEM graduate to gain vital classroom experience before pursuing a PGCE, with extensive in-house training for support staff.

An Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school in Tower Hamlets is searching for a bright STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) to fill an exciting post ASAP. This is a full time & term time only role, with scope for teacher training in September 2027.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an intelligent and switched-on STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) who is contemplating pursuing a career in teaching to gain that crucial classroom experience before committing to a PGCE.

What will this STEM Graduate (STEM Teaching Assistant) role involve?

• Supervising classes across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5 in the absence of the class teacher
• Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of Secondary subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations throughout lessons
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused and completing the work provided
• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required
• Providing additional academic support and intervention for pupils who require it
• Working closely with Teachers, Heads of Department and the wider pastoral team
• Developing strong classroom management, communication and leadership skills
• Gaining invaluable Secondary School experience ahead of potential Teacher Training
