Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Dundee is inviting applications for a Graduate Apprentice Site Engineer as part of our 2027 Early Careers programme. You will gain hands‑on experience on major infrastructure projects and be mentored by experienced engineers on site.

You will develop technical and professional skills, learn how design and construction come together, and work with a supportive team to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3 Scottish Highers at grades BBC or above including Maths plus one other STEM subject.
• NC Civil Engineering or Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering is an alternative pathway into the programme.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and delivery of engineering and construction activities on site.
• Assist with setting out, surveying, and checking works to ensure they meet drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical information and construction documentation.
• Monitor site activities and support supervisors to ensure safety, quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site diaries and inspection records.
• Support management of subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives to achieve project objectives.
• Assist with inspections, audits and quality checks to verify compliance.
• Develop understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems.

Education
