Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc invites graduates to join its 2027 Early Careers programme as a Graduate Site Engineer in Elgin. You will gain hands-on experience on major infrastructure projects, taking on real responsibility from day one and developing technical and professional skills with support from experienced colleagues.

You will work on site within Power Transmission & Distribution teams, contributing to planning, setting out, quality checks, documentation, and coordination across project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum 2:2 honours
• Willing to travel to project locations
• Full UK driving licence (as applicable)

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering activities on site
• Set out, survey, and check works against drawings and specs
• Review engineering drawings and technical information for project delivery
• Monitor site activities to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
• Maintain project records including diaries, reports, and documentation
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives
• Undertake inspections, audits, and quality checks
• Apply health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems
• Escalate hazards, risks, and technical issues as needed
• Support project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders
• Use digital engineering tools and project systems for reporting and decision-making
