Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is offering a Graduate Site Engineer role based in Invergarry, Skye, Scotland, as part of the 2027 Early Careers programme. You will gain hands-on experience delivering major infrastructure projects, supported by experienced engineers and a structured graduate development plan.

You will develop on-site engineering skills across planning, surveying, quality control and project delivery while working toward professional accreditation and chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required with 2:2 honours minimum.
• Willingness to travel to various locations and stay away from home as required.
• Full UK driving licence required before joining.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, coordination and delivery of engineering activities on live projects.
• Set out, surveying and checking works to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical information and construction documentation to support delivery.
• Monitor site activities and support project teams to ensure safety, quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain project records including site diaries, progress reports and inspection records.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives to meet programme objectives.
• Undertake quality checks, inspections and assurance activities to verify compliance with standards.
• Apply health, safety, environmental and quality management systems on site.
• Identify hazards and risks and escalate technical issues for resolution.
• Support project planning, scheduling and resource coordination as required.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Utilise digital engineering tools and project systems for reporting and decision-making.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
