Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a recent Civil Engineering graduate to join our Highways, Transport & Infrastructure division as a Graduate Site Engineer in the North East of England. You will gain hands-on experience on live site activities and work closely with senior engineers to learn practical skills.

Qualifications

• A recent degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• A proactive attitude and a passion for delivering quality results.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day management of construction sites.
• Support senior engineers in coordinating and overseeing site activities, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project records, including site reports and daily logs.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Contribute to site planning and implementation, including scheduling and resource management.
• Assist with the preparation of site drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
