Job summary

Principal Education is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism, SLD and SEMH in Hounslow. This full-time role runs until July 2027 and offers training and day-to-day guidance from experienced consultants.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, using strategies like PECS, Makaton and positive behaviour support, collaborating with teachers and therapists to help pupils reach their EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• A degree, ideally in Psychology, Education or a related subject.
• Some experience with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• Resilience, empathy and a genuine interest in SEN.
• Full time availability, Monday to Friday, term time.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application.
• Overseas police clearance if you've lived abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism, SLD and SEMH needs, 1:1 and in small groups.
• Use strategies like PECS, Makaton and positive behaviour support.
• Help pupils manage big emotions and work towards their EHCP outcomes.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and the SENCO every day.
• Build hands on experience you can talk about in any interview.
