Job summary

Principal Education is recruiting a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with specialist schools in Hounslow on a full-time basis until July 2027. You will support pupils with autism, SLD and SEMH, 1:1 and in small groups, using PECS, Makaton and positive behaviour strategies.

You will work alongside teachers, therapists and the SENCO daily, gaining hands-on experience to discuss in interviews. A degree in Psychology, Education or related subject is preferred, with an Enhanced DBS or

• Some experience with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Right to work in the UK.

Principal Education is working with specialist schools across Hounslow that want bright, resilient graduates full time until July 2027.

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

• Support pupils with autism, SLD and SEMH needs, 1:1 and in small groups
• Use strategies like PECS, Makaton and positive behaviour support
• Help pupils manage big emotions and work towards their EHCP outcomes
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and the SENCO every day
• Build hands on experience you can talk about in any interview

What you must bring

• Right to work in the UK
• A degree, ideally in Psychology, Education or a related subject
• Some experience with children or young people, paid or voluntary
• Resilience, empathy and a genuine interest in SEN
• Full time availability, Monday to Friday, term time
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application
• Overseas police clearance if you've lived abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years

Pay and benefits

• £105 to £125 per day depending on experience, paid weekly
• Higher rates for ongoing roles, aligned with the school's pay scale
