Job summary

Guardian Jobs is seeking a motivated graduate to support children with SEND in a Hounslow school from September 2026. The Autism Support Assistant will work 1:1 and in small groups within an Additional Resource Provision, helping pupils access learning and develop social and emotional skills.

Ideal candidates hold a Psychology degree from a UK university, have some child-centred or SEN experience, and possess strong communication, patience and resilience.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and patience are essential.
• Experience with children with SEND is preferred.
• Degree in Psychology or related field from a UK university.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Collaborating with SENDCo and teachers to enable access to learning.
• Creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
• Supporting academic, social and emotional development of pupils.
• Helping pupils build confidence and independence.
