Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a Science Secondary School Cover Supervisor for an Alternative Provision in Nottingham. This role offers a route for graduates aiming to progress to a Teacher status through school-sponsored training.

You will support students excluded or unable to attend mainstream schools due to behavioural, emotional, or medical needs, delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a calm, respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to support learners with behavioural, emotional or medical needs.
• Ability to deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain focus in class.
• Strong behaviour management and resilience in challenging settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students.
• Ensure students stay on task and engaged with learning.
• Provide classroom support in line with PRU policies.
• Maintain a calm, respectful learning environment.
• Apply behaviour management strategies consistently and fairly.
• De-escalate challenging situations and ensure student safety.
• Support students’ SEMH needs.
• Participate in staff briefings and contribute to behaviour support plans.
