Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Rail - Rolling Stock candidate in Nottingham to join the Rolling Stock team and contribute across the full rail vehicle lifecycle from early strategy through to maintenance and operation. You will work on fleet procurements, decarbonisation, depot planning and performance improvement alongside senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Copy of academic transcript required.
• Full working rights in the country of application.
• No more than 12 months of full‑time experience in a comparable role.
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of rolling stock projects by assisting with technical studies, vehicle specification development, requirements management and engineering assurance activities.
• Contribute to fleet procurement, modernisation and decarbonisation programmes, including assessment of emerging technologies and sustainable transport solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, specifications and other project documentation, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with asset management, maintenance planning, depot-related projects and operational performance improvement studies across rail clients.
• Develop technical and professional skills through involvement in real projects, client engagement, site visits and collaboration with specialists across the wider rail business.
