Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineer in Nottingham to join our multidisciplinary teams. You will contribute to low energy and low carbon design, drive sustainability, and help optimise HVAC systems from day one.

You will use Revit and energy-modelling tools to develop designs, run thermal analyses, and participate in decarbonisation strategies while pursuing professional qualifications in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Full working rights in the country of application
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of mechanical design concepts focused on low energy and low carbon design
• Complete the design of HVAC systems
• Use software and digital tools to analyse and optimise solutions
• Use 3D modelling packages (Revit) to develop system designs
• Undertake thermal and Building Regulation compliance modelling using proprietary software (IESVE or similar)
• Prepare mark-ups and collaborate with design teams to progress holistic design
• Prepare and input to decarbonisation strategies for buildings
• Conduct site visits
• Prepare reports, presentations and site reports
• Carry out analysis of new technologies to improve sustainability and robustness of designs

Education

Master’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering
