Arup is offering a Graduate opportunity in the Rail - Rolling Stock team based in Nottingham. The role supports the full rail vehicle lifecycle, from strategy and procurement through design, testing and maintenance, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable railway systems.

We seek graduates with a relevant engineering degree and a passion for sustainable development, who can contribute to fleet procurement, decarb onisation and asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Full working rights in the country of application.
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of rolling stock projects by assisting with technical studies, vehicle specification development, requirements management and engineering assurance activities.
• Contribute to fleet procurement, modernisation and decarbonisation programmes, including the assessment of emerging technologies and sustainable transport solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, specifications and other project documentation, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with asset management, maintenance planning, depot-related projects and operational performance improvement studies across a range of rail clients.
• Develop technical and professional skills through involvement in real projects, client engagement, site visits and collaboration with specialists across the wider rail business.

The Opportunity

The Rolling Stock team supports clients across the full rail vehicle lifecycle, from early-stage strategy, feasibility and procurement through to design, assurance, testing, acceptance, operation and maintenance. We work on a wide range of projects including new fleet procurements, fleet modernisation, decarbonisation programmes, asset management, depot and maintenance planning, and technical assurance, collaborating closely with other rail disciplines to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable railway systems.
