Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is offering a Graduate Planner - Maxim based in Motherwell as part of our 2027 Early Careers programme, delivering hands-on experience on major infrastructure projects.

You’ll learn planning and project controls, develop technical and professional skills, and join a supportive graduate community with accredited development. The role includes real responsibility from day one and some travel.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 2:2 honours in Construction Management or similar.
• Willing to travel to multiple locations; full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day planning function across projects, ensuring programmes stay accurate and aligned with delivery requirements.
• Develop, maintain and update short- and long-term project programmes to reflect progress and changes.
• Manage and update project and contractual programmes in line with reporting requirements and project objectives.
• Monitor progress, analyse programme performance, identify variances, risks and opportunities.
• Produce planning reports, dashboards and performance information for project teams and stakeholders.
• Apply planning techniques including sequencing, logic development, critical path analysis, resource planning and forecasting.
• Support project controls activities, including baseline management and change management.
