Job summary

Blatchford is seeking a Graduate Orthotist to join its UK clinics. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver first-class orthotic services, developing your expertise while contributing to NHS-linked clinics across the region.

Essentially you will assess and treat a wide range of conditions, casting and fitting orthoses, while maintaining thorough records and pursuing CPD through our strong development programme.

Qualifications

HCPC registration required.
Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics.
Experience across paediatrics, orthopaedics and footwear.
Ability to prioritise and manage workload.

Responsibilities

Support a caseload of clients with complex conditions and determine best intervention.
Communicate with informed patient consent and explain prescription decisions.
Provide counselling, advice and support to maximise rehabilitation potential.
Assess, measure, cast, fit, supply, review and adjust orthoses as needed.
Maintain clinical notes and records accurately.
Provide training in Orthotics across levels.

We are looking for Graduates to support our clinics across the region.

This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients and work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary clinical team.

The role

As a Graduate Orthotist you will use your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Orthotic Clinical Service.

We are seeking a Graduate Orthotist with broad-based experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.
Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.
Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels

What are we looking for

Essential skills and experience

Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
HCPC registration
Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
Able to prioritise and manage workload.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.
Good judgment and decision-making skills
