Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Basildon is offering an 18-month Graduate Programme for Mechanical Engineers designed to develop technical and business leadership through real-world projects on electro-optic, communications and information systems.

Starting salary £34,000 per year plus a £1,000 welcome bonus and a £1,000 exit bonus on completion; a Temporary Accommodation Allowance may apply. The role combines on-site and remote work, with three days on site to maximise learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s/Integrated Master’s degree, or higher (MSc/PhD).
• Acceptable degrees: Mechanical Engineering, Aero-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electro Mechanical.
• Strong motivation to solve technical challenges and learn across the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of our world leading electro-optic, communications and information systems products under the guidance of experienced mechanical engineers.
• Be introduced to state of the art methods, technology and tools to enable you to explore all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, build, production and in-service support.
• Produce design data packs and manufacturing data in line with BS8888, including GD&T usage.
• Deliver detailed designs, including numerical calculations and tolerance studies.
• Work to meet cost, schedule and quality demands.
