Job summary

Harris Academy Wickford is seeking a dedicated graduate Tutor in Maths to support students and raise attainment. You will deliver small-group and 1:1 teaching, assist teachers, and contribute to planning and resources.

The role offers professional development within a supportive team, with safeguarding procedures and a commitment to inclusion.

Qualifications

• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
• Relevant qualifications evidencing A Level and undergraduate degree in Maths.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maths programmes to small groups and 1:1.
• Maintain records of students’ progress against targets.
• Complete marking and provide constructive feedback.
• Highlight learning needs within a whole-class setting and plan support with the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in evaluating progress through assessments.
• Support identified students to engage with learning objectives.
• Plan with teachers and prepare resources tailored to students' needs.

Summary

Harris Academy Wickford is looking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful individual as a graduate Tutor in Maths.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering programmes of study to small groups of students in 1:1 setting
• Ensuring students are given every opportunity to meet their examination and/or Liaising with parents regarding the attendance, progress and attitude of designated students
• Maintaining records of students’ progress in relation to their examination targets
• Completing relevant marking and providing feedback
• Within a whole class setting, highlighting individual students' learning needs to the teacher and agreeing how they will be supported
• Assisting the teacher in evaluating identified students’ progress through agreed assessment activities
• Supporting identified students to engage with the learning objectives set for the lesson
• Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students’ needs and interests

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Relevant qualifications that help demonstrate evidence at A Level and undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Maths
• Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
