Job summary

Harris Federation is recruiting a Non-Teaching MAT Cover tutor (Maths) for a fixed-term contract to August 2027 in London. The role is full-time, term-time only, with an annual salary of £26,136.15–£26,509.45, based on 38 weeks per year and 37.5 hours weekly.

The successful candidate will support learners through 1:1 and small-group sessions, liaise with parents, maintain progress records, and contribute to assessments and planning under teacher supervision.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications that help demonstrate evidence at A Level and undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Maths

Responsibilities

  • Delivering programmes of study to small groups of students in 1:1 setting
  • liaising with parents regarding attendance, progress and attitude of designated students
  • Maintaining records of students' progress in relation to their examination targets
  • Completing relevant marking and providing feedback
  • Within a whole class setting, highlight individual students' learning needs to the teacher and agree how they will be supported
  • Assisting the teacher in evaluating identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities
  • Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students' needs and interests

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting identified students to engage with the learning objectives set for the lesson
  • Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students' needs and interests
