Job summary

Harris Academy Wickford is seeking a dedicated Graduate Tutor in Maths to support students on their exam journeys. The role involves delivering targeted maths programmes, tracking progress, and liaising with parents regarding attendance and achievement. You will work under teachers to tailor learning and meet individual needs.

The ideal candidate holds a Maths-related degree with strong numeracy and literacy skills, and is committed to supporting students to reach their examination targets.

Qualifications

  • A Level and undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Maths.
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver maths programmes to small groups and in 1:1 settings.
  • Engage with parents or guardians regarding attendance, progress and attitude of students.
  • Maintain records of student progress and targets.
  • Provide marking feedback to support learning.
  • Highlight individual learning needs within a whole-class context.
  • Assist teachers in evaluating student progress through assessments.
  • Support students in engaging with learning objectives.
  • Plan with teachers and prepare resources for lessons.

Summary

Harris Academy Wickford is looking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful individual as a graduate Tutor in Maths.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Delivering programmes of study to small groups of students in 1:1 setting
  • Ensuring students are given every opportunity to meet their examination and/or Liaising with parents regarding the attendance, progress and attitude of designated students
  • Maintaining records of students' progress in relation to their examination targets
  • Completing relevant marking and providing feedback
  • Within a whole class setting, highlighting individual students' learning needs to the teacher and agreeing how they will be supported
  • Assisting the teacher in evaluating identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities
  • Supporting identified students to engage with the learning objectives set for the lesson
  • Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students' needs and interests
Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Relevant qualifications that help demonstrate evidence at A Level and undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Maths
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
