Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Graduate Mathematical Modeller in the UK, based in Cambridge or Reading. You’ll join a dynamic team tackling climate risk, water resources and environmental engineering, applying advanced modelling techniques to support strategic decisions and sustainable infrastructure.

As part of Accelerating your Future, you’ll gain mentoring toward Chartership, with a three-year soft skills development programme.

Qualifications

• Degree disciplines in Mathematics, Civil Engineering, Hydrology or Geophysics are eligible.
• Graduates with relevant subject interest and modules are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Hydrodynamic & water quality modelling using industry-standard packages and CFD tools.
• Data analysis to uncover patterns and inform decisions on environmental impacts.
• Develop scripts and tools using Python or R to automate workflows and explore machine learning.
• Integrated modelling of drainage and river networks to support nature-based solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners and asset managers while mentoring juniors.
• Pursue Chartership and technical specialisation through professional development.
