Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Graduate Materials Engineer in the UK. You will join the Materials and Corrosion team, learning to assess materials performance, support durability, and contribute to low‑carbon infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months’ relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected to achieve one in Materials Engineering.
• Eligible to achieve UK security clearance; suitable for UK nationals or long-term residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with durability assessments to identify deterioration mechanisms and support long‑lasting, resilient infrastructure.
• Support evaluation, specification, and repair of construction materials in buildings and civil structures.
• Participate in site inspections and investigations to assess condition and remaining service life of assets.
• Assist with analysis of material deterioration including corrosion, concrete degradation, weathering, and aging.
• Support development of maintenance, protection, and repair strategies to improve asset performance and reduce life‑cycle costs.
• Contribute to research and innovation initiatives evaluating new materials and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Analyze technical data and help prepare reports, presentations, and client recommendations.
• Collaborate with Materials, Structural, Civil engineers and asset management specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support projects contributing to sustainability goals and carbon reduction.
