Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Graduate Applied Acoustic Physicist at the Haslar site to contribute to major maritime platform designs, ensuring acoustic stealth. You will perform experiments, data analysis and numerical modelling in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

The role requires a STEM degree and experience in acoustics, with tools like MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, CFD or FEA. A pathway to professional growth and security vetting is part of the package.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant STEM subject (Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similar).
• Experience with acoustics, noise, vibration and flow measurements is expected.
• Strong numerical computing skills (MATLAB, Python) and simulation tools such as COMSOL, CFD or FEA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct practical experiments, measurements and data analysis.
• Perform numerical modelling and theoretical tasks.
• Assist in designing test items and experimental procedures.
