Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Senior Noise & Vibration Engineer in Bristol to help secure the future capability of the UK submarine fleet. You’ll provide independent technical assurance, consultancy and specialist advice on acoustic stealth, noise and vibration performance.

Responsibilities include reviewing submarine designs, identifying risks, producing reports and supporting complex maritime programmes, with travel to customer sites and a requirement for DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in defence/maritime or related complex engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and systems engineering.
• Experience reviewing or validating designs and proposals.
• Ability to analyse complex technical information and communicate findings.
• Experience producing technical reports for stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultancy skills.

Responsibilities

• Review submarine system designs and engineering proposals.
• Provide independent technical assurance and specialist advice.
• Identify acoustic, vibration and integration risks and mitigations.
• Produce technical reports and evidence-based recommendations.
• Support delivery of complex submarine and maritime programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
