Job summary

RLB in Birmingham is seeking a Graduate Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our Building Services team. You will gain hands-on experience across healthcare, retail, offices, education and public sector projects, supported by a structured Future Professionals programme.

You will work with experienced engineers, receive mentorship towards chartership, and benefit from hybrid working, tailored training and a clear path to professional accreditation.

Qualifications

• Degree (or expected degree) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
• A strong academic record and genuine interest in building services engineering.
• Working towards, or interested in pursuing, professional membership with CIBSE, IET or an equivalent professional body.

Responsibilities

• Support M&E condition surveys and technical inspections.
• Assist with pre-acquisition and due diligence surveys.
• Contribute to dilapidations assessments and technical reviews.
• Support preparation of PPM schedules and lifecycle plans.
• Undertake site visits to inspect M&E systems and assets.
• Monitor M&E installations to ensure quality and compliance.
• Collect, analyse and record asset data and survey information.
• Prepare technical reports and client deliverables under supervision.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support delivery of projects per procedures and client requirements.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Develop understanding of commercial and procurement principles.
• Pursue chartership through ongoing professional development.
