Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a Graduate Learning Mentor for a secondary school in Wednesbury. This role provides 1:1 and small-group SEN support for students with Autism and ADHD, helping them follow routines, break tasks into steps, and stay focused during lessons.

You will work closely with teaching and SEN staff to build confidence, independence and positive engagement in lessons. Enhanced DBS required or willing to obtain one. Immediate start until July 2027.

Qualifications

  • 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, Criminology or a related subject.
  • Genuine interest in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, communication needs and emotional regulation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, structured guidance.
  • Ability to support focus, routines, organisation and positive engagement in lessons.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Mentor, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD. You will help students follow routines, understand lesson instructions, break tasks into manageable steps and stay focused during learning. You will also support pupils with organisation, transitions between lessons, emotional regulation and positive behaviour choices throughout the school day.

This role will suit a patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent graduate who wants to make a real difference to students with additional needs. You should be able to provide calm reassurance, use clear communication and adapt your approach when students feel overwhelmed, distracted or anxious. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering educational psychology, clinical psychology, SEN or teaching.
