Academics is seeking a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant for an independent SEMH school in Esher, Surrey. The role focuses on supporting students with Autism, SEMH and other needs, both academically and emotionally.

We are recruiting for a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist therapeutic education setting supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH and other barriers to learning.

About the School

An independent SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) school for boys and girls, aged 7-17, in Esher, Surrey. Building relationships with our pupils is key to their therapeutic approach. The Role

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students both academically and emotionally.

You will help to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment where every student feels understood, supported and encouraged to succeed.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children and young people with Autism, SEMH needs and other additional learning needs
• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Helping students to access personalised learning programmes
• Supporting emotional regulation, wellbeing and positive behaviour
• Building strong, trusting and professional relationships with students
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other members of the wider team
• Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals
