Job summary

Arup, a global consultancy, invites applications for a Graduate Ground Engineer role based in Cardiff or Bristol. You will engage in ground investigations, modelling and design across water, energy, rail and highways projects, learning from senior engineers.

You will hold an undergraduate or master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Earth sciences, with desirable GIS/CAD/BIM skills, and be eligible to work in the UK. Start date 1 September 2027; visa sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Masters in Civil/Geotechnical/Earth sciences with relevant coursework.
• GIS, CAD, coding or BIM/3D modelling experience is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop across multiple geotechnical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assess site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to shape early-stage projects.
• Analyse ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for design.
• Represent Arup on site during ground investigations and earthworks.
• Deliver Total Design by collaborating with other disciplines for integrated solutions.
• Communicate clearly during all project stages from optioneering to detailed design.
