Job summary

Stantec invites graduates to join its 2027 Graduate Programme as Geotechnical Engineer in Birmingham. You will contribute to site investigation, ground characterisation and geotechnical design across water and infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with your local team and Early Careers cohort, building geotechnical expertise within a supportive, interdisciplinary environment and opportunities for site work depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Geology or Civil Engineering is required.
• Keen interest in working in the water sector.
• Collaborator who works well with diverse people at different levels.
• Able to remain calm in new situations and handle dynamic tasks.
• Organizing and managing activities with a structured approach.
• Problem-solver who is proactive and challenges conventional thinking.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ground investigation specifications.
• Preparing ground investigation reports.
• Supporting site characterisation and ground assessment activities.
• Conducting fundamental geotechnical design calculations.
• Potentially supervising ground investigation activities.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
