Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist in Reading to develop innovative and pragmatic working methods while reducing carbon and protecting the environment.

You’ll undertake geotechnical desk studies, design ground investigations, supervise fieldworks, and produce reports in line with EC7. The role supports growth within a joint venture combining design, build, and contracting expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering (MSc/MEng).
• Good understanding of UK geology and geological processes.
• Strong organisational, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake geotechnical desk studies and design ground investigations.
• Assist in supervision of ground investigation fieldworks and liaise with contractors.
• Interpret ground investigation data and develop geotechnical design parameters.
• Produce ground investigation reports and geotechnical design reports (EC7).
• Communicate project ground risks and mitigation to design and construction teams.
• Prepare calculation packages and input to works specifications and drawings.
