Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist to develop innovative, pragmatic approaches to geotechnical projects, reduce carbon impact, and protect the environment. You will undertake desk studies, design ground investigations, and assist in supervision, reporting and risk mitigation.

The role requires a degree in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering (MSc/MEng), UK geology knowledge, strong organisational and communication skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering (MSc/MEng).
• Strong understanding of geology and geological processes in the UK.
• Excellent organisational, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake geotechnical desk studies, design of ground investigations and contract administration.
• Support technical supervision of ground investigation fieldworks and liaise with contractors.
• Interpret ground investigation data and develop geotechnical design parameters and risk communication.
• Produce ground investigation and geotechnical design reports in line with EC7.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to develop better-value engineering designs and communicate ground risks.
• Perform geotechnical analyses, produce calculation packages, and contribute to works specifications and drawings.
