Job summary

Arup in Cardiff is looking for a Graduate Ground Engineer to join our geotechnical team. You will investigate ground conditions, support design for foundations, earthworks and tunnels, and work on projects across water, energy, rail and highways.

The role suits graduates with an undergraduate degree in Ground/Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geography & Geospatial Science or Materials Engineering.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/Bachelor's level in Ground/Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Geography & Geospatial Science or Materials Engineering/Science with GIS skills.
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Assessing site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to help shape projects at their early stages
• Analysing ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for use in design
• Representing Arup on site during ground investigations, earthworks and other construction activities
• Delivering Total Design by working closely with other disciplines to provide integrated project solutions
• Written and verbal communication during all stages of projects, from initial optioneering through to detailed design
