Job summary

Ayesa Engineering is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical division in Guildford, UK. You will work as part of a project team to deliver technically robust geotechnical designs that meet client briefs, while supporting tender activity and on-site inspection activities.

The role offers hybrid working within a global consultancy, with opportunities to develop broad expertise across geoscience, environmental services, and building structures as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year design experience in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Detailed knowledge of Eurocodes and current engineering codes of practice.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and excellent planning and organisation skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients.
• Ensure geotechnical designs comply with set standards and recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable.
• Ensure designs are delivered on time and fulfil client briefs.
• Inspect construction work to ensure design implementation is correct.
• Monitor processes and results to comply with safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements.
• Assist at tender stage of projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Working as a member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
• Ensures all geotechnical designs are in accordance with set standards and all recommendations are robust, value‑based and commissionable
• Ensures that designs are delivered on time to our clients and that the design fulfils the client’s brief
• Inspects construction work and ensures that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
• Monitors processes and results and ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
• Ability to make appropriate judgements and decisions and exercise initiative
• Assisting at tender stage of projects

What You Bring:

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-years' design experience in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with proven technical knowledge of geotechnics and relevant software is preferred
• Detailed knowledge of Eurocodes and current engineering codes of practice
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and excellent planning and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently

Skills & Attributes:

• A first degree (minimum 2.1) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or similar
• Masters degree in geotechnical engineering or similar is preferred
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status
