Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Birmingham is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to start in 2027. You will join a global team delivering fire protection engineering across new and existing buildings in the UK and Ireland.

The Graduate Development Programme provides hands-on project experience, mentoring, CPD support, and guidance toward Chartered Engineer status, all within a flexible, hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK or Ireland.
• Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Physics.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out fire engineering analysis on a range of new and existing building projects.
• Working across a diverse range of buildings, including high-rise offices, large retail complexes, and airport developments.
• Analysing fire growth, means of escape, structural fire resistance and smoke control using CFD and other methods.
• Preparing technical reports and liaising with clients, including major developers.
