Job summary

Hoare Lea in Manchester is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to work on live projects from day one, spanning healthcare, hotels, retail and residential sectors. You will produce detailed designs, use CAD and Revit, and participate in site surveys as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Our programme supports CPD, training, and aims to guide you toward Chartered Engineer status within a supportive mentor-led environment, with opportunities across the UK market.

Qualifications

• An Engineering Council accredited degree with 2:2 or above is expected, ideally in Fire Safety Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Working on live projects from day one.
• In a variety of sectors from healthcare to hotels, retail to residential.
• Producing detailed designs and drawings.
• Using the latest computer modelling software CAD and Revit.
• Undertaking site surveys.
• Researching ground-breaking technologies.
• Continuous CPD and learning opportunities.
• Review building designs to assess compliance and design fire solutions with architects and authorities.
• Undertake calculations for smoke and temperature spread, CFD simulations and fire dynamics.
• Undertake analysis of potential fires and develop advice based on outcomes.
• Provide recommendations on life safety systems and fire strategy reports.
