Job summary

Hoare Lea, a leading UK building engineering consultancy, invites applications for a 2027 Graduate Fire Engineer in London. You will join the Fire team on high-profile projects and gain exposure to a broad range of sectors.

The role includes extensive training, CPD, weekly sessions and a clear pathway toward Chartered Engineer status, with mentors and external conferences. You will design fire strategies, perform CFD analyses, and collaborate with architects and authorities.

Qualifications

• 2.2 or above in an Engineering Council accredited degree, ideally Fire Safety Engineering or related field.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Friendly, ambitious and confident with a flexible, resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed fire protection designs and drawings.
• Use CAD and Revit for modelling.
• Engage in CPD and learning opportunities.
• Review building designs for life-safety compliance and advise on fire strategies.
• Undertake smoke, temperature spread, CFD simulations and related analyses.
• Collaborate with architects and Statutory Authorities on fire strategy reports.
• Provide recommendations for life-safety systems.
