Job summary

Fort Recruitment is seeking a Graduate Engineer for a leading marine energy company on Merseyside with global operations. The role includes commissioning, annual maintenance, troubleshooting, and service activities for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The successful candidate will join a team delivering remote and on-site monitoring and world-wide customer support. The position offers full training, permanent employment, and opportunities for international travel across Europe and beyond

Qualifications

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Energy Systems or a related field is essential.
Willingness to travel internationally, primarily within Europe, with occasional worldwide assignments.
Ability to undertake short service interventions (1–2 days) and longer projects.
Strong motivation to learn and work in a fast-paced technical environment.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in an international team.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Inspect battery racks, modules, BMS, power and communication wiring.
Verify battery voltages, temperatures and State of Charge (SOC).
Perform BMS diagnostics, firmware updates, configuration and troubleshooting.
