Job summary
Fort Recruitment is seeking an Applications Engineer for a leading marine energy company on Merseyside. The role focuses on translating customer needs into reliable, standardized system solutions and leading on-site commissioning with the AYK team.
You will manage multiple projects, review requirements, and coordinate with PM, R&D, Production, and Service teams. International travel ~100 days/year is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Energy Systems.
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or related tech.
- Willingness to travel internationally ~100 days/year.
- Experience with system commissioning or field engineering.
- Good understanding of electrical system integration and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Travel internationally ~100 days/year to FAT, SAT, installation and sea trials.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal teams.
- Lead the technical execution of multiple concurrent BESS projects from handover to service handover.
- Review specifications and standards to develop compliant system solutions.
- Configure and commission BMS software and project parameters.
- Provide on-site technical leadership during installation and commissioning.
- Maintain project documentation and commissioning reports.
