Cowi in York is seeking a Graduate Engineer (Civil/Structural) for a summer intake. The role offers office/home hybrid working and permanent status. You will contribute to climate-smart underground infrastructure projects and be supported toward Chartered Engineer status.

You will learn to produce designs, perform analyses, and communicate technical concepts to clients and stakeholders while developing your professional credentials.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc).
• Aspirations to become a Chartered Engineer.
• Some engineering work experience (year in industry or summer placements).
• Demonstrable interest and commitment to technical excellence in engineering.
• Ability and willingness to work in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.

Mansioni

• Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations per project requirements.
• Performing analysis using computer modelling; reading and interpreting technical material.
• Translating concepts and solutions into presentations, reports, drawings, and infographics for clients and stakeholders.
• Contributing to the dissemination of engineering best practices and use of in-house tools like the carbon calculation tool.
• Identifying potential health & safety, design, and commercial risks and helping mitigate them.
• Delivering work to a high technical standard with thorough self-checking.
• Attending site visits or client meetings.
