Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a graduate electrical engineer to join multidisciplinary teams delivering challenging energy sector projects. You will develop technical knowledge through real project experience, learn from seasoned engineers and contribute ideas from day one.

The programme includes a three-year early careers soft skills development pathway, mentoring, and a hybrid working policy designed to support wellbeing and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (obtained no earlier than 2025) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or Electrical Building Services.
• Some opportunities may require a master’s degree and UK security clearance eligibility.
• Ability to work across energy sectors and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support optioneering, feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for client challenges.
• Contribute to concept and FEED design including technical assessments and cost estimates.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, calculations and technical drawings including BIM models.
• Use data and software to test performance and support evidence-based decisions.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and handover to ensure safe, compliant assets.
• Collaborate with utilities, network operators, developers and regulators, and present findings to teams and clients.
