Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking passionate graduates to join the Energy team as a Graduate Control and Instrumentation Engineer. The role involves applying skills to design control systems for energy assets, including renewable and nuclear projects, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and innovation.

You will contribute to architecture design, documentation, and data sheets while developing technical knowledge and professional growth from day one in a global, employee‑owned consultancy.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Minimum bachelor’s degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected.
• Master's degree may be essential for some opportunities; UK security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control system architectures, including programmable controllers and HMIs.
• Produce Control System Philosophy documents and functional specifications.
• Create engineering calculations, cause-and-effect matrices, and safety documentation.
• Develop instrument data sheets, I/O schedules, and alarm schedules.
