Job summary

Amey is offering a Graduate Civil Engineer position in Trafford, Manchester. Starting salary is £31,000 with a 40-hour week, commencing September 2027. The role sits within the Highways & Transportation Practice and involves supporting a team of engineers on national and local highway projects, asset management and lifecycle planning.

You’ll develop practical skills, work with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to sustainable infrastructure across the UK.

Qualifications

• Civil/Structural Engineering degree (2:1 or above)
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to learn and develop in engineering and infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Prepare/contribute to technical reports, design proposals and client presentations.
• Support delivery of highway engineering projects for national and local schemes.
• Contribute to asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.
• Use industry-standard software to model and analyse options and performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Develop innovative solutions that meet industry standards and guidelines.
• Deliver robust designs to support safe, efficient asset management.
