Job summary

AECOM in the UK is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Highways, Active Travel and Infrastructure team. Based in Chesterfield, you’ll work with a 70+ strong highways group on high-profile projects across the island of Ireland and beyond, supported by industry-leading tools and a collaborative, inclusive culture.

You’ll be enrolled in the AECOM ADVANCE graduate development programme to support your professional growth, with exposure from feasibility to detailed design, construction

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering or General Engineering with a 2:1 or above.
• MEng would be an advantage.
• Relevant modules in highways, infrastructure or transportation would be an advantage.
• Enthusiastic, hardworking and technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
• Good report writing and technical communication skills would be beneficial.
• Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the wider team.
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, while demonstrating initiative and focus.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
• Willingness to develop professionally and work towards relevant professional accreditation or chartership.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a diverse range of high-profile projects across the transportation sector.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and contribute to projects at all stages from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction support and contract administration.
• Participate in the AECOM ADVANCE graduate development programme to support your professional and personal growth.
• Collaborate with local and national clients across the UK to understand needs and deliver value.
