Job summary

Amey is offering a Graduate Building Services Engineer position across multiple UK locations, including Liverpool and Manchester. Starting salary is £31,000 with a 40-hour week, and the September 2027 start date provides an early entry into infrastructure projects.

You'll support condition surveys, feasibility studies, design work and site checks, learning from industry experts. Rotation may occur across accounts and disciplines to broaden experience in building services and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in building services, mechanical or electrical engineering, at 2:1 or above.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• CAD/BIM software familiarity (Revit, IES, TAS, AutoCAD).
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.
• Technical understanding of building performance, energy management and sustainability.
• Ongoing training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with producing technically sound design solutions meeting standards.
• Design and modelling of HVAC, lighting, power and water systems in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Perform engineering calculations and energy modelling.
• Conduct site visits and monitor commissioning and installation progress.
• Coordinate with architects, clients and engineers to integrate services.
• Research low-carbon technologies and energy efficient solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and costs.
• Support general office tasks within the consulting team.
