Amey in Manchester is seeking a Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer to join the Buildings & Estates team. You’ll work on a range of structures, from bridges to new builds, and contribute to inspections, drawings and analyses from day one.

The role starts Sep 2027, offers a starting salary of £31,000, a 40-hour week and structured training to develop practical engineering skills with National networks and collaborative teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 2:1 or higher.
• Full UK driving license.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a graduate role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition.
• Develop innovative inspection and technical solutions.
• Prepare technical drawings and reports.
• Undertake numerical analysis to determine structural load carrying capacity.
• Propose strengthening and maintenance options.
• Deliver robust structural assessments for safe asset management.
