Job summary

Arup seeks Graduate Blast Engineers in London or Manchester to join our resilient, security and risk practice. You'll prepare blast engineering analyses and design structural and façade systems in collaboration with architects, engineers, cost consultants and project managers.

You will work outside standard codes in a risk-based framework, developing the design basis and engaging with clients to agree risks and costs, while pursuing professional qualification.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Structural Engineering with Architecture, on track to achieve a 2:1/60% or above.
• Excellent written, verbal and sketch communication skills.
• Interest/experience in Fluid Dynamics, Structural Dynamics, Post-elastic non-linear Structural Response.
• Strong understanding of Structural Behaviour and philosophy of Structural Design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blast engineering analysis and design of structural and façade systems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, cost consultants and project managers.
• Develop the design basis and manage client relationships to align risk and cost decisions.
