Job summary

Arup is seeking graduates for Blast Engineer roles in London or Manchester to develop blast analysis and design structural and façade systems, collaborating with architects, engineers and project managers to embed robust protective design in built environments.

You will work with threat specialists to define design requirements, develop design bases, and contribute to client discussions on risk, cost, and blast performance. A strong academic record and hands-on communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent written, verbal and sketch communication skills.
• Interest/experience in Fluid Dynamics, Structural Dynamics, Post-elastic non-linear Structural Response.
• Strong understanding of Structural Behaviour and philosophy of Structural Design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blast engineering analysis and design of structural and façade systems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to integrate solutions into the built environment.
• Develop Hostile Vehicle Mitigation strategies and blast load design assumptions.
• Manage client relationships and communicate design decisions throughout projects.
