Job summary

Schindler Ltd (UK) is seeking a Trainee Application Engineer to support design and configuration of lift modernisation projects across the UK. You will work with experienced engineers to develop technical designs, CAD drawings, BOMs and calculations, and gain exposure to compliance and safe, commercially effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, or master's degree (MEng/MSc).
• Understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings and design calculations.
• Experience using CAD software, ideally AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive approach to learning and developing within a technical engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering of lift modernisation solutions.
• Produce engineering calculations, documentation and design specifications.
• Create and update drawings and layouts using CAD software.
• Assist with product configuration and the preparation of bills of materials.
• Work with internal teams to meet quality, cost and timescale targets.
• Provide technical support to colleagues, customers and project teams.
• Support site surveys and attend customer meetings to gather requirements.
• Identify and resolve design issues ensuring compliant, deliverable solutions.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings and project documentation.
