Job summary

Schindler Ltd (UK) is seeking a Modernisation Survey Engineer to conduct detailed site surveys of lift and escalator installations. You will assess condition, risks and upgrade needs while documenting findings for engineers and sales teams.

This hands‑on role involves travel to customer sites and close collaboration with project teams. The role requires mechanical/electrical understanding, survey experience, and strong communication skills to translate findings into practical modernisation

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification and experience.
• Experience in lift, escalator, building services, mechanical or related engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed technical surveys of lift and escalator installations, take measurements and record configurations.
• Assess equipment condition, performance, safety and remaining service life to support modernisation recommendations.
• Produce technical reports, risk assessments and scoping recommendations for internal teams.
• Provide survey data, dimensions and specifications to support estimating, design and project delivery.
