Job summary

Schindler Ltd (UK) is seeking a Lift Project Manager for New Installations & Modernisation to own lift projects end-to-end, from planning through commissioning. You will collaborate with customers, site teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, on-time, and within-budget outcomes in a quality-driven environment.

The role emphasizes technical, commercial and operational responsibilities with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end lift installation and modernisation projects, meeting milestones and budgets.
  • Serve as primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Oversee delivery of equipment, materials and resources for project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental requirements.

  • Monitor labour use, productivity and site performance.
  • Support monthly valuations and progress reporting.
  • Carry out quality checks to meet customer and Schindler standards.
  • Provide technical support during pre-sales and planning as needed.

Lift Project Manager - New Installations & Mondernisation

As a New Installations & Modernisation Project Manager, you'll take full ownership of lift installation and modernisation projects from initial planning through to completion. Working closely with customers, site teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands‑on project management role combining technical, commercial and operational responsibility, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, safety and successful project delivery.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of lift installation and modernisation projects, ensuring milestones, budgets and quality standards are achieved
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, building strong relationships and managing expectations
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring project activities from pre‑construction through to installation, commissioning, handover and post‑completion support
  • Managing the delivery and installation of equipment, materials and resources to support efficient project execution
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations
  • Creating and maintaining a safe working environment for employees, customers, subcontractors and members of the public
  • Managing site permit‑to‑work processes and ensuring compliance with project‑specific site requirements
  • Conducting pre‑installation and pre‑modernisation reviews to identify risks, resource requirements and project readiness
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaborative project delivery
  • Identifying project risks, technical challenges and site issues, implementing solutions to minimise delays and maximise project performance
  • Managing contract variations, contractual obligations and commercial considerations throughout project delivery
  • Monitoring labour utilisation, project productivity and site performance to support successful project outcomes
  • Supporting monthly project valuations and reporting on project progress, costs and completion status
  • Carrying out quality checks throughout delivery to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Schindler quality standards
  • Providing technical support during pre‑sales activities and contributing to project planning where required
Essential
Who you are
  • Experience managing lift installation, modernisation, major repair or similar construction‑related projects
  • Strong understanding of construction, installation and project delivery processes
  • Experience coordinating site‑based teams, subcontractors and multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management requirements, including CDM principles
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing project costs, variations and contractual requirements
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop practical solutions to site and installation challenges
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
  • Full driving licence valid for use in the UK
Desirable
  • Project management qualification such as PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent
  • Technical knowledge of lift and escalator systems
  • Experience within the lift, escalator or wider building services industry
  • Previous experience managing field‑based engineering teams
